Hilary is an artist with a PhD in cultural studies. She works with overlooked processes, materials, people and places in unexpected ways. Her most recent project with Dan Edelstyn is no exception: a fake highstreet bank, that in post austerity Britain, is printing its own banknotes to raise money to buy back local debt. Genius. It’s part art-installation, part stunt and part charitable endeavor that is raising money for projects in E17 (the 35th most deprived borough in the country). She joins us to talk HBSC (Hoe Street Central Bank) and how art can be used as a force for good.
